Honey Motel formed in the rehearsal rooms of Liverpool, rooted in the teenage friendship of guitarist Sam Meredith and bassist Jack Hughes. The pair laid the early foundations of the band before drummer Lew Fogg joined in the winter of 2023, locking in the rhythm section. With the groove in place, they brought in Freddie Griggs to lead the outfit in April 2024.
Their debut as a four-piece came at Liverpool Sound City 2024, diving headfirst into the live circuit. Since then, they’ve played Y Not Festival, Stockton Calling Festival and joined the Lottery Winners for a couple of shows, supporting their 2025 number-one album KOKO.
With Motel FM launching in 2025, Honey Motel are broadcasting their new signal: a six-track EP capturing their blend of indie, dreamy, and sleazy sound. Think the rhythms of The Horrors, Talking Heads, Vacations, and Backseat Lovers. Add the lyrical wit of Mac DeMarco and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, topped with vocals as powerful as Nothing But Thieves and Sam Fender. Somewhere in that mix, you’ll find Honey Motel.
